Voters are starting to figure out that an Obama/Biden administration will raise your taxes. Joe the Plumber helped Americans see that Obama will spread the wealth around because he thinks that's good for everybody. So all the actual working people will have to work just a little harder for their families...and the families down the street.
Of course, Obama will give that money to folks who don't even pay taxes. That may be a sweet deal for them, but not for the working folks.

Cheap, but predictable
It looks like the Montana Democrats are up to their old tricks these last few weeks of the 2008 campaign season. I can’t wait to see what they do the final week.
The Montana Democrats are having their people call voters and saying untrue and nasty things about Republican candidates. The Montana Democrats admitted they were doing it, too.
The Democrats believe that when you can’t win on the issues, you lie about your opponent, distort their record, and tear them down with unfounded statements.
A funny thing happened the other night when one of these Democrat-paid callers phoned my house. We’ve received about 10-12 polling calls so far this election season. The caller was gently promoting (push polling) a Democrat for state senate. They had a lot of nice things to say about him. I listened and answered their questions and finally told them I favored the Republican candidate. The most interesting thing about that phone call was the Democrat state senate candidate they were promoting had lost in the primary – he was not even on the ballot for the General Election.

Seriously?
Just when people thought we’d heard (and read) it all this election season, Lee Newspapers of Montana published a story about a candidate’s eating habits.
The Chairman of the Montana Democratic Party, Dennis McDonald, forwarded an e-mail around from Republican Roy Brown’s neighbor, saying Brown is a vegetarian.
Yes, you read that correctly, a vegetarian. Seriously.
Brown was asked about this “election-changing” claim by his neighbor and he was quoted in the story as saying, “I am not and have never been a vegetarian."
Now that’s investigative journalism!
Articles like this one makes people want to take the reporter’s computer away and run over it with their vehicle for even writing about something this ridiculous. The story is subscription-canceling goofy. I would expect stuff like this on Saturday Night Live or Comedy Central, but not from a daily newspaper.
Journalism went a little further down the toilet today. Lee Newspapers is leading the way.

The “Joe the Plumber” Debate
It was the best of their three debates. McCain did better than in the previous debates, and Obama is attempting to run out the clock. Bob Schieffer did well and asked some good questions. I was thinking that it was too bad that the late Tim Russert was not around to moderate one of these debates.
By the way, don’t forget to vote in the poll on the left.
Joe the Plumber was the star tonight. Basically, Obama wants to take money from people, like Joe, and give it to other people. He calls it spreading the wealth. In other words, if you make some money in this country, maybe a little more than your neighbor down the street, Obama will tax you so he can spread it to your neighbor. It really does not matter to Obama if maybe your neighbor is a lazy person or a drug addict, he wants to spread the wealth from you to him.
We’ve heard it before, like when Clinton said in his first campaign for President that he wanted to give everyone a tax cut. Clinton raised our taxes. Obama will too.
We finally heard about the domestic terrorist friend of Obama’s, William Ayers. We heard about the group that attorney Barack Obama represented and his campaign gave thousands to, ACORN. Obama seemed to be reading his remarks when he was answering these questions. One has to wonder if ACORN folks were outside the debate center registering Mickey Mouse to vote.
Finally they talked about abortion. Obama by far has the most extreme abortion views of any candidate for President, ever. As for partial-birth abortion, he favors it. Any time. He campaigned on it in 2004.
Obama was caught snickering and smiling several times during the debate when McCain was giving answers. His smug and elitist attitude is showing through, and that turns people off.
So yes, it was the best debate. McCain won. I was happy to see him finally go on the offensive.

My Kind of Town
It appears the town leaders accidentally routed the wine that was supposed to run through the town fountains for the Italian grape festival into the water pipes of some homes instead. People were getting a steady stream of white wine from their kitchen taps. Nice! Read the whole story HERE.
Sadly, it only lasted a few minutes.
Maybe next year it will last a little longer!

Jesse Speaks
Jesse Jackson is back. He’s now telling the world what an Obama Administration will do if Obama wins the election.
According to this story, Jackson said:
The most important change would occur in the Middle East, where "decades of putting Israel's interests first" would end.
Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E
ACORN tried to register Mickey Mouse to vote in Florida. Luckily, Mickey’s application was rejected.
ACORN has registered 152,000 in Florida. (Note: I did not say 152,000 “people”)

Listening??
U.S. Senator Max Baucus, D-Mont., is kicking off a listening session tour in Montana to discuss health care.
In a Billings Gazette article, Baucus was quoted as saying, "We need a new approach to health care so more Montana families can get access to quality, affordable care."
While some may appreciate Max’s actions, why has it taken him 30 years to do something about it? It does not seem any of the reporters covering this story asked that question. Maybe someone attending these meetings will.
In the article, it is also reported that Baucus chairs the “influential” Senate Finance Committee. Is the new strategy for friendly reporters to drop the word “powerful” and insert influential? "Powerful" was getting a little old.
Baucus will hold these sessions in 10 cities across the state from today until October 28. I imagine there will be fundraisers and campaigning after the sessions. Some may even say the whole tour is a campaign tactic. This is election season and although Baucus has plenty of money and little competition, you can be sure he will be out and about helping his fellow democrats in and around these 10 cities.
Sadly, that’s politics in 2008.

Judgment
In many dictionaries we find that judgment is the ability to make a decision or form an opinion objectively, authoritatively, and wisely, esp. in matters affecting action; good sense; discretion. It is also the mental ability to perceive and distinguish relationships; discernment.
Judgment must be a major issue in the Presidential campaign. Often we can look into a candidate’s past to see how he/she voted on issues or the statements they made, or whom they associated and we can get a good idea of their judgment.
The millions of people who favor Barack Obama in this election have not looked very closely at his past judgments, which I believe gives a glimpse into what the future may hold if he is elected President.
Several relationships Obama has shown he exercised bad judgment. Here are a few of these relationships:
Barack Obama sat in the Church for 20 years listening to his Pastor and spiritual advisor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright spew hatred toward America. Wright married Barack and Michelle Obama. He baptized their children. Sure, it is documented that Obama “denounced Wright's remarks, but did not disown him as a person.” This was until he finally saw that Wright was hurting his Presidential campaign, then he dropped him.
Another of Barack Obama’s close friends, Tony Rezko, was recently found guilty of six counts of wire fraud, six counts of mail fraud, two counts of corrupt solicitation, and two counts of money laundering. Rezko helped kick off Obama’s campaign. We also know a little about the sweet land deal he helped facilitate for Obama.
Probably the worst (that we have discovered so far) lack of judgment shown by Barack Obama is his relationship with William Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn. Ayers co-founded the Weather Underground. This group performed bombings in the 1960s and 1970s, most notably bombing the Pentagon, the Capitol, and New York City Police Headquarters. Ayers has no regrets. Nobody should claim that Obama supports what Ayers and his group did, although it is perfectly fine to ask him this question. What people should question is the judgment of Barack Obama in even having this relationship at all.
Yes, a candidate’s past judgment gives us an idea what his future judgments may hold. Long ago during the Democratic primary, I had doubts about Barack Obama’s judgment – especially when it dealt with his relationships. Never in our lifetime have we seen a Presidential nominee have such a poor lack of judgment in their past associations with felons, terrorists, and hateful people.
This election is far too important for the voters of the United States to take Obama’s lack of good judgment in the past for granted. It is a very serious issue that needs critical attention before a voter checks the box for Barack Obama.
In my opinion, Barack Obama has shown he lacks good judgment to be the President of the United States.
